Business Service Case Management Information Sessions (CRS Australia)

Delivery of information sessions during the Business Services Case Management (BSCM) scheme managed by CRS Australia.  These information sessions required delivery of information sessions to people with intellectual disability who had been assessed using the BSWAT as having less than 15 per cent productivity, their parents and carers, to clearly explain options available to them as a potential alternative to continued employment in their ADE (then Business Service).

Annette Blacklow (formerly a Senior Consultant and Trainer at CRS) was involved in the development of material for presentation at information sessions and was also responsible for training of staff to deliver these sessions nationally.  Training ensured that staff were capable of delivering the information clearly and efficiently and were able to respond appropriately to questions from information session attendees.  Annette was also responsible for delivery of information sessions at outlets where there were known political sensitivities or issues in relation to active advocacy and parent groups who had not been in agreement with the case management scheme.  These sessions required the ability to present information objectively and rationally to ensure that all attendees were provided with the correct information in a manner that was easily understood and in an environment where attendees felt that their questions would be addressed without bias or agenda.
